With the release of Beyonce’s latest album, 4, hitting shelves this week I was anxious to get my hands on it to see what the infamous Mrs. Knowles-Carter was dishing up this time around. There’s been a lot of talk surrounding this release being that it unfortunately leaked online almost three weeks before it’s intended release, but luckily for Beyonce most of the feedback has been pretty positive and I agree. The album is cohesive and the tones of the music surround her vocals seamlessly. But my favorite track on the album definitely goes to the Diane Warren-penned and Ryan Tedder-produced track “I Was Here”. It’s the kind of song that truly reminds you why Beyonce is Beyonce. The production is lush and dramatic and the lyrics surely resonate with anyone who has a dream to accomplish in this world. Give the gorgeous track a listen below.
With the release of Beyonce’s fourth album “4” just a matter of weeks away it was only a matter of time before we started to see her face on every show/magazine/website in order to promote the project. But if all her promotional efforts are going to be as kick-ass as her latest shoot for W magazine than you’ll get no complaints out of me! This is probably one of the coolest set of shots we’ve seen come from the burgeoning performing icon. Shot by the amazing Patrick Demarchelier, the high-fashion spread shows the songstress getting a little edgy without looking like she’s trying too hard…simple sex appeal at its finest. I love the splashes of neon coloring in each shot too; it really enhances each already exquisite shot.
